Remix and Style References

Fork a project, reuse a past video with @, or adapt the style of a video link.

There are three ways to build on a video that already exists:

  • Fork — copy a whole project and keep going from it.
  • @ references — point a new chat at one of your past videos so fluos reuses its style.
  • Style-reference links — paste a video link and fluos adapts its pacing and look.

Fork a project

Forking copies a project into a new one, so you can try a different direction without touching the original.

  • Projects page — open the project's menu and choose Fork.
  • Chat header — click the ⋯ button next to the project name and choose Fork into a new project.

The new project is called "Fork of …" and opens straight away. It gets:

  • the current version of the video and its files, as its first version
  • the project's library assets
  • the project's brand kit
  • a first message that sums up where the original chat left off, so fluos knows what it inherited

Forking needs edit access to the workspace. View-only members don't see Fork. Deleting the original later does not break the fork.

Reference a past video with @

In the chat composer or the composer on the dashboard home, type @ at the start of a word, or open the + menu and choose Reuse a video. The list shows the projects and chats in this workspace that have a finished video. Type to search, then pick one.

The video appears as an @[Title] chip in your message.

@[Spring launch] Same style and pacing, but for our autumn collection.

fluos reads the referenced video before it builds and reuses its style and pacing: layout, type, color, motion, scene rhythm and audio feel. For a first video, the storyboard starts from the reference's design, scene timing and narrator. Say so in your message if you only want part of it, for example "only the type and colors".

A reference stays with the chat: later messages in the same chat keep using it. Only videos from the current workspace can be referenced.

Paste a YouTube link or a direct link to a video file (.mp4, .mov or .webm) into the composer. Under the link, click Style reference, then send your message.

fluos studies the video's transferable style:

  • pacing and how often it cuts
  • the kinds of transitions
  • the feel of the type (weight, width, case)
  • the main colors
  • the music feel and tempo (BPM)
  • the structure, beat by beat

It adapts, it does not copy. Logos, brand names, people, signature graphics and exact copy from the reference are never reproduced. On a first video, the storyboard card shows Style adapted from your reference with the link.

Your own colors come first: colors you name, then your brand kit, then the reference.

Cost and limits

  • A new analysis costs about 10 credits. Each link is analyzed once per workspace; using the same link again is free.
  • On the Free plan you can analyze 3 new reference videos a day.
  • Instagram, X and TikTok links are not fetched. Download the video and upload the file instead.
  • If fluos can't read a YouTube video from its link, it asks you to upload the file or paste a direct video link.
